Leverage In Space?

theladyragnell:

Some days, Hardison seems to be the ship.

Nate may be the captain of the Leverage, but Hardison is the one who knows it inside out, part mechanic and part pilot and tuned to every single noise and vibration on board.

If Hardison loves the ship, Parker loves space. She’ll take any excuse for a spacewalk, she’ll go out on a tether when they have oxygen to spare. Eliot saw the way she grinned, first time they were going to break into an orbital data center and she got to go out into the stars, and ever since then, he’s known she doesn’t belong in gravity, that if she didn’t need to breathe she’d just walk out there and stay.

Eliot, he’s been out in space for duty, for money, for a hundred reasons for most of his adult life, and this is just another job, just them taking Nate’s assignments and watching Sophie talk them into every berth in the solar system. He hasn’t got a reason to love space. It’s just a place to be.

But watching Hardison and the grin on his face when he’s moving over the controls so fast he’s almost blurring, listening to Parker laugh when she’s spinning out without gravity, Eliot thinks maybe he could learn to love it.
