How about Leverage?

You and an anon both asked for this one!

1. THE TEAM ACTUALLY APPRECIATES WHAT HARDISON DOES. He is the butt of way too many jokes. Also under this point, he gets to have his moments of triumph undiluted–yeah, you got me, I’m talking about The Scheherezade Job. The whole hypnotizing thing from Nate was gross. Nate’s behavior towards Hardison in general is frequently gross. ~Oh, Hardison, you don’t have the killer instinct, the instinct to use your team like they are pawns on a chess board, so you’ll never be good at running a crew.~ Like, fuck that. I’m all for mastermind Parker, but not at the expense of Hardison getting treated like that.

2. Speaking of Hardison things, this is its own point: sometimes he gets used for this “humor” that really isn’t funny. Specifically, off the top of my head, that cringingly transphobic sequence in The Cross My Heart Job and whatever episode it is in s5 where Hardison doesn’t want to tip the delivery guy. Alec Hardison tips extravagantly because he grew up poor and knows what it’s like to work a job like that, and you can pry that belief from my cold dead hands. It is really specifically him who’s used for this kind of thing, and a. it shouldn’t show up in the first place and b. it shouldn’t be him being used for it.

3. Maybe we would have had it if the show had gone on longer, but the Broken Wing Job makes me want two things. 1. The con the team is doing while Parker is doing her job back home and 2. episodes like that for the whole team when they’re thrown a problem that makes them use different skills than usual where the rest of them only show up in the background and we get to see them interacting with different people. I wouldn’t have cared for the Nate episode, but the rest would have been fascinating.

4. EXPLAIN THE ITALIAN. Like, sometimes not explaining people is the wisest course, but not explaining her made her feel like a cariacature sometimes. She could have been way more interesting and as a result the Damien Moreau plot could have been more interesting because Eliot’s backstory came into it.

5. Another episode that I wish could have been a thing–something like the Doctor-light episodes of Who, where the focus is on someone outside the team who has no idea what’s going on and why their boss is suddenly getting fired/jailed/disgraced. Like, not one of the victims, not one of the marks, just some random bystander who somehow gets pulled into the con. That would have been amazing.
