Asexual Awareness Week Fandom Challenge 

Day 2: Post about characters you headcanon as asexual.

Tony Stark.

Tony Stark sleeps with a lot of people. Lots and lots and lots. So, how do I justify this headcannon? Besides the fact that behavior is not orientation… Behavior is not orientation. ^_^

Tony Stark, raised by a playboy and a socialite, grew up simultaneously under a microscope and being resolutely ignored. The fact that Tony would start drinking and sleeping around young isn’t surprising, even without having him be at MIT as a teen. Sex seems to be more something he does because it’s expected and fun. However, he really never seems to be attracted to anyone. His cannon relationship with Pepper is a slow build situation where she is so important to him that sex is really the furthest thing from his mind when he’s with her, because he thinks she deserves more than that. His closest relationships for most of his life are with his own creations, not other people, because he can’t really relate to anyone. Really though, I think Tony is intelligent enough that his worldview becomes his introspective downfall. What do I mean by that, exactly? He’s is SO aware of sexual attraction as a tool of the media, and how overblown it is in advertising (as he would have to be, as the head of a major company) that he very well could believe it is ONLY a marketing tool.
