Or something like that.

Which is what i’ve been tagging posts about the end of homestuck, theories, anaysis, feelings about homestuck being over, so I suppose it’s an appropriate title. I was reading journeyintowebcomics last posts in their liveblogs of homestuck, and well. A lot, and not so much, happen between Game Over and Collide. Not so much, actually,… Continue reading Or something like that.

(apologies for post hijack, scissor kind u_u) Ok so, adding onto this, I just finished Wryd Sisters two days ago and I came away with it convinced that 1)the Aware treatment/ironic-subversion of mythic tropes in Pratchett’s work almost certainly influenced Homestuck and 2)There is a noticeable and lamentable lack of helpful woodgatherers in John’s Heiric Journey 😐

Though having said that, he does certainly spent A LOT of time being told what he should be doing by other people(mostly women, two of which classify thematically as “witches”, and one of which was an ACTUAL Witch). Maybe this is part of the TRUE nature of the Heir Class: “Heirs get Bossed around, possibly in an Aspect-related way, and following these instructions sincerely serendipitously leads to their growing facility with/Inheritance of Aspect” :p

(which I guess would make Equius, theoretically, a failed Heir of Void, as he spends much of his time trying to tell other people what to do rather than listening, even though he fetishizes being ordered around, and even when he does take orders he usually doesn’t follow them thoroughly[Karkat and Gamzee], and aside from Nepeta and possibly Aradia[in a limited context] doesn’t really cultivate the sort of positive counseliar relationships with women that an Heir needs to succeed)

This is exactly my theory on heirs, in fact

You know it just occurred to me that, if this is the case, that could be an axis along which to form Knight and Heir into a duality: Knights are self-motivated, whereas Heirs are motivated by others.

I think they are both motivated by others, but knights are more selective and guarded about who they let direct them. (Seers mostly)

hussie said in one of his old tumblr posts that doc scratch was the second mirthful messiah in gamzee’s religion, not calliope.

bladekindeyewear: No. Immediately after Lord English’s Intermission 2 reveal, Andrew said that as “it seems”, Doc Scratch and Lord English were always the mirthful messiahs the juggalo religion in Gamzee’s universe served, the “:o)“ and ”Do:“ respectively. This was true. Calliope and Caliborn also serve these “:o)” and “Do:” roles, also share a body, and – upon… Continue reading hussie said in one of his old tumblr posts that doc scratch was the second mirthful messiah in gamzee’s religion, not calliope.

the homestuck anti-sugar conspiracy

karkatvantasistrans: hellobeau:  @frantastically and i were talking about a couple of things in homestuck and started to realize this ongoing theme against sugar and sugar products, going through out the entire series: – from the very beginning of the series John is immediately opposed to sweets like birthday cake even on his birthday because of… Continue reading the homestuck anti-sugar conspiracy
